Welcome Message

 

My name Katie McGroarty and this is my 19th year teaching here in the Dennis Township School District. I love our community and am thrilled to be part of the Dennis Township family. I am married and have an amazing husband. We have 2 children, Kaylee and JJ. They will both begin a new chapter together in Middle Township High School. Dennis Township provided them an exceptional K-8 experience. We have 2 dogs, a chocolate lab, named Tug, and a yellow lab, named Brewer.  I graduated from Stockton University with my Master's in Instructional Technology. In my free time, I love spending with with my family; boating, vacationing, and eating out! We also love watching our kids play sports. 

 

I have taught various grade levels, as well as STEAM, in the primary school. This year, I will be back in the classroom teaching 1st grade. My love for technology and 1st grade is an excellent combination that will start this year off encouraging excitement, enthusiasm, and curiosity in the classroom. My goal is to instill a love of learning to all my students with technology tools and resources. I want my students to take risks and think outside of the box. We will build upon character traits and establish a class family with rules and responsibilities. I will provide a safe learning environment for all my students and I will also support social, emotional, behavioral, and academic aspects of learning for each and every student.
