Dennis Township 7th graders Kailyn Jamison and Josh Bingaman recently won awards in an essay contest sponsored by the Seaville Quaker Meeting.
Chosen from over 450 entries, Jamison and Bingaman both wrote powerful essays regarding the value and impact of peace.
As a first place winner, Bingaman read his essay aloud at the awards ceremony.
Jamison took home an honorable mention.
Amanda Unkle, 7th grade language arts teacher, says she is proud of her students and their writing abilities.
"Josh and Kailyn both worked hard on their essays and showed real talent for being able to write on a specific theme," Unkle states.
